This is not 'Nam, this is the Lebowskifest Forum, there are rules. Please feel free to inspect them:

What is considered an unacceptable post on the comment boards?
The short answer is, very little. You have to really try. But there are some guidelines.
  1. Images that are "not safe for work" ("NSFW") in the average professional workplace. This includes nudity, pornography of any kind, graphic images (images that would make many people feel ill such as cadavers, autopsies, surgeries, vomiting, severed limbs, alarming deformities, roadkill, dead animals and bodily functions such as urine and feces, and/or pictures of George Steinbrenner in any context whatsoever).

  2. Borderline Image Posts: If you're posting an image, and you're not quite sure whether it falls under the "safe" category or not, then we strongly recommend linking it with a very clear warning that it may not be safe. That way people can make their own decision whether they should chance it or not, and you'll be spared the ire of your fellow Achievers.

Aside from "not safe for work" pics, the following are also unacceptable:
  1. Repetitive messages: No spamming, dudes. If you want to plug your website, please share. Have a friend in a great new band? Please share. But don't post the same message in every thread, and don't start a new topic in each forum. A topic that appears innocently posted in a forum not related to it will generally get moved to the appropriate forum (usually "Everything Else") with a re-directing flag on the topic in the original forum for a day or two. If it appears to have been posted in flagrant disregard of the rules, it will get deleted and no one will admit to deleting it because it's not worth the hassle to explain since it was already explained here.

  2. Messages devoid of content: Don't post nonsensical crap just to post. Yes, we realize drunk moderators do this every hour every day, but they don't mind when we delete their posts because they don't remember posting anyway. Don't end up like them.

  3. Hate speech: Do you have hate in your heart? You're being very undude. Criticism is cool, abuse is not. So respect your fellow Achievers while tearing their beliefs apart (especially those of Cardinals and White Sox fans). Epithets, of course, make our hair fall out. We get upset. So don't do it.

For the avoidance of doubt, inflammatory comments directed at any particular ethnic group, sexual orientation, gender, religion, etc. are unacceptable. Use common sense on this one.

  4. Trolling other Achievers: Yes, it's fun sometimes. Yes, we know people should know better than to take things so seriously. But some Achievers do. Ribbing your fellow Achievers ocassionally is OK, but bullying, deliberately antagonizing and making a nuisance of yourself in general is not. Just don't be a dick and, again, use some common sense.

  5. Repeatedly reposting something that was deleted: Usually posts are removed for a reason (see above). Reposting it repeatedly, or complaining about it is not recommended.

  6. Proxies are evil: A main reason for the added security feature you see on this forum is because of the continued efforts of spammers who come in under different identities using proxied IPs.

Because of these bums, proxied IPs are strictly banned on this forum.

We understand that proxied ips do have legitimate uses in their time and place, but based on our experience their time and place is not the Lebowskifest.com forum. No exceptions! Do not complain about this on the board, email us or PM us.
As such, if you are, in fact, a genuine new member, please register under a genuine IP and do not use multiple registrations. See this thread on how to get started posting if you are new, and welcome to the forum.
