of all the newsletters. Lebowski Fest Newsletter v8: - 10/11/2004 Greetings Achievers, We've got certain information, man. New stuff has come to light. Lebowski Fest West - LA - March 25th-26th, 2005! Lebowski Fest is heading way out West to the City of Angels - Los Angeleez for Lebowski Fest West on March 25th and 26th, 2005. The Friday night event will include music and a midnight screening of the film at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood. The main event on Saturday will be held at the 68 lane Cal Bowl complete with plenty of Nihilists, Dudes, Pederasts, Bunnies, Valkyries, White Russians, Costume, Trivia, Bowling Contests, appearances by actors from the film and what-have-you. More information will be posted here as it comes to light. Lebowski Fest New York Rocks The Big Apple Lebowski Fest New York held this August was a blast! Thanks to The Knitting Factory and all the bands for a wild pre-party, the Cozy Bowl for hosting the bowling, and all the Achievers who traveled far and wide to celebrate all things Lebowski in New York City. Chek out some of the pictures. Scott and Will even got to go on CNN for a fancy interview. The video clip is here. New Bumper Stickers You can take comfort in the fact that we have heard your pleas for bumper stickers that say "The Dude Abides...", "Careful, Man there's a beverage here!", and "At Least I'm Housbroken." Happy Birthday to Lebowski Fest It's hard to imagine that the "1st Annual Big Lebowski What-Have-You Fest" (if you're not into the whole brevity thing) was held only two years ago (Oct. 12th, 2002) at the Fellowship Lanes in Louisville. Check out the Video Tour link for a taste of the humble beginnings of Lebowski Fest. We didn't have a clue what we were in for! Aggression Shirt The "This Aggression Will Not Stand, Man" - Vote shirt has a new back and will be gone after the elections next month. Get out there and vote November 2nd! The shirts are here if you are so inclined. Another Shirt Bites the Dust We are almost out of the 2nd Annual Event Shirts and they will be retired after they sell out. They will join the ranks of the coveted "1st Annual Shirt", Black and White Nixon Poster, and the Shepard Fairey Limited Edition Obey poster. Speaking of which, the 3rd Annual Signed and Numbered poster by Bill Green is about gone for you poster collectors out there. Bill has just finished designing posters to be used in Cameron Crowe's forthcoming film, Elizabethtown. And proud we are of Bill Green. Lebowski 7:23 The inexplicable phenomenon of Lebowski signs has resurfaced. A sign reading Lebowski 7:23 has been appearing at locations around the world. This seems to be related to the Lebowski 7:19 and Lebowski 6:19 signs, but we are mystified as to the true meaning. We will catalog this phenomenon in hopes that we will one day understand what it all means. 4th Annual Lebowski Fest to be held in Louisville, KY on July 23rd, 2005! The big 4th Annual Lebowski Fest will commence in Louisville, KY on July 22nd-24th, 2005. Stay tuned for more information. Mark it Louisville in July 2005. Take 'er easy, Lebowski Fest Newsletter v7: 4-7-04 Greetings Achievers, As you may have guessed by the presence of this email in your inbox, we've got information, man. 3rd Annual Lebowski Fest - Louisville, KY June 18th-20th, 2004 Tickets for the 3rd Annual Lebowski Fest will go on sale on May 10th, 2004 3:00 EST. Please mark your calendars because our events have always sold out far in advance. Two tickets will be available: Friday, June 18th, 2004 Lebowski Fest will be kicked off with an outdoor waterfront concert followed by a screening of the movie. After appearing on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and the pages of Rolling Stone Magazine, Louisville's own My Morning Jacket will return home to rock Louisville's brand new waterfront amphitheater. After My Morning Jacket rocks the stage, the screening of the movie will begin. Bobby Bare Jr. will open the show. This is the very first event to be held at this beautiful new amphitheater. It will be under the night sky and beverages will be available, man. Saturday, June 19th, 2004 (6:19) At noon, the Lebowski Fest Renegade Motorcade Parade will begin at the Executive West Hotel. Immediately following will be the Lebowski Fest Carnival in the parking lot of the Executive Strike and Spare. The parking lot will feature carnival style games with a Lebowski twist (Ringer Toss, Marmot Fling, Malibu Sheriffs Mug Toss, what-have-you). All proceeds from the games will go to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana, and proud we are of all of them. Louisville's own Squallis Puppeteers will be on hand with their wacky antics. There will also be live music and what-have-you. The parking lot opens at 1:00 PM and your ticket to the 3rd Annual Lebowski Fest will get you into the parking lot as well as the bowling center at 8 PM for bowling, costume, trivia, farthest traveled contests, white russians, and what-have-you until 1:00 AM. We are still working out the details for the after-party and Sunday recovery brunch. Check the 3rd Annual page for all the details as they come to light. Tickets for Friday alone will be $15 and Saturday (all-day) alone are $22. There will be a combo ticket available for $34 and will be available in limited numbers. The combo ticket will also save you money on the service charge. These go on sale on may 10th at 3:00 EST. Lebowski Fest West - Las Vegas - 2004 Lebowski Fest West in Las Vegas was a hit! Over 1000 people came out from over 30 US states and Canada to Achieve in Sin City. Liam and Jeff "The Dude" Dowd were there as well. Check out the pictures! The Lebowski Fest West shirt is now on sale for a reduced price. Bumper Stickers We have 10 new bumper stickers available. The original five are all gone. Congrats to those who got one. Speed of Sound Tour - Roadie Shirt Our latest creation to remember your days as a Roadie with The Dude. There is a hidden message on the back of the shirt if you read it downwards. A-S-S-H-O-L.... Are you an Achiever? There is a new section on the web site for Achievers to send in pictures of themselves wearing their Achiever shirts at various locations. Just email us a picture along with where you are in the photo and we'll put it on the site. Go out and Achieve anyway! Lebowski 6:19 The Lebowski 6:19 phenomenon is in full swing. Send us your pics! See you in Louisville this June! Lebowski Fest Newsletter v6: 2-7-04 Greetings Achievers, As you may have guessed by the presence of this email in your inbox, new shit has come to light. Lebowski Fest West - Las Vegas - Dios Mio, man - Liam and Me.... We are just three weeks away from Lebowski Fest West in Las Vegas! The Saturday night bowling event is completely sold out! James Hoosier who plays John Turturro's bowling buddy, Liam will be making an appearance along with Jeff "The Dude" Dowd (the real-life Dude on whom the Coen Brothers based Jeff Bridges' character) on Saturday night. Tickets remain for the Friday night screening of the film with Liam, who will be on hand to talk about working on the movie and show us how to polish a bowling ball! There will be door prizes including event posters autographed by Jeff Bridges! A cash bar will be provided for white russians and other beverages, man. Tickets will be available online until they either sell out or Sunday, Feb 15th, 2004 2 PM EST. If there are still tickets after this date, they will be offered at the door at the Imperial Palace on Friday Feb 27th at 8 PM. Documentary film crews will be on hand for the weekend for two forthcoming feature documentaries. If you are going to attend Lebowski Fest West on Saturday night, be sure to check out the itinerary and contest rules. In addition to engraved bowling trophies for contest prizes, we will be giving away some stuff autographed by Jeff Bridges to 1st place contest winners. We are looking forward to the costumes and hopefully some of last years costumes will be outdone. There will be an Achiever photo shoot on Saturday at the Imperial Palace. We want to get all the achievers in their achiever shirts for a huge group photo. It will likely be Saturday afternoon in front of the Imperial Palace. Check the site for exact time and location. Event posters and Shirts are now available! 3rd Annual Lebowski Fest - Louisville, KY June 17th-20th, 2004 The 3rd Annual Lebowski Fest is shaping up to be quite the weekend. We will have a special "museum" set up with actual props from the film. We will disclose what they will be closer to the event. The renegade motorcade parade this year will include a "best float" contest so be thinking of a way to spruce up your vehicle for the parade. We will have all the usual shenanigans including the infamous "Ringer Toss." We will be using the same dirty undies from last year - the undies are for the weight - the ringer cannot look empty. We are working on some celebrity appearances and will announce those closer to the event. The official hotel, The Executive West is currently accepting room reservations for the Lebowski Fest group rate of $65/night. They can be reached at 1-800-626-2708. Tickets to the events will go on sale sometime in April 2004. We'll send out another email with the exact date and time they will go on sale. Check the 3rd Annual page for all the details. Bumper Stickers The first series of bumper stickers are almost gone. Get them now if you want them. We will be coming out with new bumper stickers soon and will be including a free bumper sticker with every order after we return from Vegas in March. Are you an Achiever? Take 'er easy, Will & Scott Lebowski Fest Newsletter v5: 11-21-03 Lebowski Fest West - Las Vegas, NV Feb 27th-28th, 2004 Lebowski Fest West will be held in Las Vegas, NV on February 27th-29th, 2004! The official hotel is The Imperial Palace which is right in the center of the Vegas strip. There will be a screening of the film on Friday Feb. 27th at the hotel complete with White Russians, costumes, and hundreds of Achievers shouting Over The Line! in unison. The main event will be at the Sunset Lanes on Saturday Feb. 28th from 8-Midnight and will include bowling, costume contest, trivia contest, bowling contest, farthest traveled contest, oat sodas, and what-have-you. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, December 5th, 2003 at 3:00 P.M. EST. Mark it Dudes, tickets are limited and will likely sell out quickly. The Dude is not in Pick your favorite or get the set of five for posterity. 3rd Annual Lebowski Fest - Louisville, KY - June 19th, 2004 After headin' way out west, the big 3rd Annual Lebowski Fest will be held in Louisville (aka Lebowskiville) on June 19th, 2004. It will be at the Executive Bowl and the Executive West hotel will be the official hotel. Check here for all the latest on 6:19. Louisville will always be the home of Lebowski Fest and the site of the big annual events. Lebowski 7:19 The 2nd Annual Lebowski Fest was a huge hit on July 19th (7:19). Thanks to the over 1200 Achievers who came out and bowled with the Dude. Lots of cool articles were written in some unexpected places including the Wall Street Journal, Guardian (UK), and the LA Times. You can read all the press here. There are plenty of cool photos too. The documentary crew is busy editing over 100 tapes. We'll keep you posted on the progress. Lebowski 6:19 Mark it, we have a date and location for the 3rd Annual Lebowski Fest. It will be held on June 19th, 2004 at the Executive Bowl in Louisville. The Executive West is the official hotel and they are already taking reservations. The Executive Bowl is almost twice as big as the alley used this year and is where the PBA (Pro Bowlers Association) bowls. We have some surprises to make this one bigger and better than last year - stay tuned... Are you an Achiever? As most of you know, Achiever is the preferred nomenclature for a Lebowski fan.
